Here are the shot lists for May 2025, reflecting customer requests and the latest trends.

[The Start of Summer: Ip-ha (立夏)]

Traditionally, early summer begins in May with the onset of Ip-ha (立夏), but due to the abnormal heatwave this year, the daytime temperatures in March soared to levels typical of early summer. Considering these climatic features, it is recommended to plan a lifestyle image series that emphasizes preparing for summer earlier than usual.

Consider creating themes around items like sunshades, arm sleeves, portable fans to block the sun's intense heat, and features such as fountains, sprinklers, or artificial mist sprayers, which convey a cool feeling through the dynamic movement of water.

[Modern Court Snacks and Herbal Teas]

On the 25th, the Cultural Heritage Administration announced that, based on the popularity of the "Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang" event held in collaboration with the National Heritage Promotion Agency, they will greatly increase the number of events and participants in 2025 compared to last year.

The event, which includes court snacks and medicinal teas made based on the records of the Joseon Dynasty, will be divided into "Juak Set" and "Gotgam Orim Set." At Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang, visitors can enjoy Pine nut crackers, Maejakgwa, Omija-gwapyeon, Juak, Dasik, Yakgwa, Gotgam Orim, Geumgyul Jeonggwa, and Apple Jeonggwa.

Considering that traditional events are now accessible in official settings and everyday life, why not think about how you can modernize these traditional desserts to meet the rising demand?

[World No Tobacco Day]

May 31st is World No Tobacco Day, designated by the WHO. The harmful effects of smoking have been pointed out for a long time, but, in contrast, new forms of tobacco products have been developed over time and are gaining popularity. Therefore, it would be beneficial to create a theme that connects various tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes, with the potential health impacts of smoking.

[Work-Life Balance]

Private childcare service providers have been outside of the legislative framework and lacked public oversight until now. With the introduction of the national qualification system for child caregivers, those who have completed professional training will be able to work in the private sector as well. Considering this, it seems that this will offer greater opportunities for a better work-life balance.

How about creating images that reflect Korea’s work-life balance lifestyle, and the future childcare-friendly social environment Korea is moving toward?
